Moving to online streaming of talks (March 19th 2020)

Following on from my previous message and the responses from our attendees, all of our planned public talks for this semester will now be streamed live online rather than being held in person. These can be accessed on Youtube as well as on Zoom using the connection details below:

Our Universe Revealed Youtube Channel [unlimited viewers] – https://www.youtube.com/OurUniverseRevealed

Connect using Zoom [limited to 100 viewers] (instructions for how to install the Zoom client and connect to the talk can be found at https://bit.ly/2xbGZVs) – https://notredame.zoom.us/j/724722144 (Meeting ID is 724-722-144).

We will aim to follow our usual event format with a 30-40 minute presentation followed by time for audience questions. Questions can be asked through both Youtube and Zoom platforms at any time during the talk and we will collate and respond to them at the end of the talk.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support with the series in these challenging times. Through the power of technology we will do all we can to keep educating our students, our neighbors and the Notre Dame community whether close by or further afield.

Our message regarding COVID-19 (March 12th 2020)

Given the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19 and updated guidance from the University, we have taken the decision to reschedule our planned ‘Climbing The Distance Ladder’ talk on Tuesday 17th March until Tuesday 26th May 2020. This information is now reflected on our website at nduniverse.org.

The highest priority of the University is to safeguard the health of members of the Notre Dame community and its neighbors. We have made this decision given the changing situation and with all members of our community’s health and well-being in mind.

In light of current circumstances, we are reassessing our event schedule for the rest of the semester. It is presently unclear how the schedule will be impacted for the rest of the semester and we will provide further information as it becomes available. In the interim, we are assessing possible alternatives of hosting these talks in person including live streaming of events. To help us understand if this would be of interest, please answer a one question survey which you can find here:

Many thanks for your continued support with the series and your understanding given the present circumstances. I hope we can resume with the regular series as soon as possible and in the meantime, I encourage you all to stay safe and follow the health advice being given.
