There is nothing special in the world. Nothing magic. Just physics.

—Chuck Palahniuk

The laws of Physics govern everything in the universe, from the smallest components in atoms to the largest structures in the cosmos. Hosted by the Department of Physics at the University of Notre Dame, Our Universe Revealed aims to make Physics accessible to all by explaining phenomena in the world around us in easy to understand language – there’s no science background needed!

During this series, find out about the fundamentals of the universe, results from the forefront of Physics as well as hearing about the cutting-edge research being undertaken at Notre Dame.

Join us as we explore, explain and reveal the mysteries of the universe around us.

Resuming in-person Our Universe Revealed events
September 10th 2021

First and foremost, I hope you and your family are continuing to stay well and are taking the opportunity to enjoy the final few weeks of summer.

With the beginning of the new academic year and updated University COVID-19 visitor policies, we’re planning to recommence in-person Our Universe Revealed lectures in the coming weeks. In the next few days, we will release details for the semester schedule on our website (nduniverse.org) with events taking place on select Tuesday evenings in Jordan Hall of Science. Our first event is scheduled for Tuesday 21st September at 7pm EST.

For the safety of everyone attending, all events will be held in line with the University visitor policies:

  • Visitors are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated.
  • Regardless of vaccination status, visitors must wear masks inside campus buildings and at any other time designated by the University.
  • Events will be held in large lecture theaters to promote social distancing.

See https://covid.nd.edu/policies/visitors-policy/ for more details.

We are aware that there may be some nervousness about attending indoor, in person events at the present time. As such, we are working to provide an online format for these events in addition to them being person. Further details about this will be made available via our website in due course.

Many thanks for your continued support with the series and if you have any questions, please do get in touch.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon!
